I will be the one to leave,
And I will miss the point of grieving.
Sunken in my wooden soul,
I’m walking on the cares of old.
I sleep while you’re awake, my soul you cannot take.
I’ve run so far away, and I miss someone.
If you miss me, stranger, dear,
It’s strange, my dear
Then I might lose the strangest fear,
I miss your face, but fear
That I’m the only stranger here,
That when there’s a stranger near,
And I miss no-one.
I miss someone.
Your absence mists my eyes, I’m sure you’re in disguise.
I turn quick, in surprise, to find you missing.
Where have I gone? What is this city?
Where people whisper like this sea,
And street lights shine like autumn leaves?
A couple shuffles in an empty café,
The Dance of Love draws blood, they say.
Dogs run through the ruins.
I don’t know what I’m doing.
Mist travels through the city,
You are mist/You are missed
I cannot see.
